Subway, Hamilton, ON opening hours

Review from Cylex

Cleanliness

My wife and I have eaten at the 1550 UpperJames Subway many times over the past 2 years and have been pleased each and every time. However tonight Dec. 18/2010 we stopped in to eat. After we ordered and paid for our sandwiches and soup we went to find a table to sit at. Every table in the restaurant were dirty with food. I asked the man who served us if he would please clean a table for us. He came to the table we were standing at and wiped the pieces of lettuce and olives onto the floor with a napkin!! When I looked at the food hitting the floor, I noticed a garbage streaming into the entrance behind the serving counter. He looked at me and said "We were busy today." and he went back behind the counter. Another employee who was sitting on the bench talking to her friend on her cell phone, got up and went into the back room. I thought she was getting a rag to wash the tables starting with mine because it was still very dirty. My wife had to ask me to not create a scene so I ate my soup and sandwich and only complained quietly...Later another family came in and ordered. When they sat down the husband complained about the mess on the tables and this time the man came out with a wet dishcloth and cleaned it for him.I was thoroughly disgusted by this whole ordeal and will never come back to this place unless I am assured this will never happen again. I'm tempted to call the health department because I can only imagine what shape the back room is in!
